Puppies On Parade At Park Delta Bay

Our park prides itself on welcoming “puppies and their people”.  The twelve-acre expanse provides a perfect forum for canines to stroll with their (properly leashed) humans .  On the west side, a leisurely circle takes the doggies and their trained companions  all the way around the beautiful meadow, past our residents’ tiny houses, RVs, and trailers flanked with the charming wooded north border and the levy road to the south  On the east side of the park, towering trees provide shade for the pups as they scamper and play in the little yards, overlooked by their relaxing caretakers with bowls of water and treats at the ready.

The park also provides an off-leash fenced area, in which well-behaved folks can gather to converse while their dogs confer about puppy politics.  On Halloween this year, the off-leash park and the nearby community room in our clubhouse provided a venue for the annual costume Puppy Parade. Many delightful participants reprised their past participation:   Bilbo, with his companion Marge; twins Jack and Lou-Lou, and their person Robin; Smokey accompanied by his human Dani; Vinnie, and her humans Jenn and Trudi; Fossil with stand-in escort Gina; and Shelby, leading Jeannie who decorated a wagon for the event.  The group paraded for neighbors with who rewarded the them with treats to hand out for the costumed canines.  Little human Addie, daughter of one of our park families, joined the fun while in the clubhouse, Dia (Fossil’s normal person) and Kristyne (a cat-owner) got the snacks ready for all to enjoy.  Vinnie, a border collie who came as a tie-dyed Hippie, watched over her smaller buddies throughout the fun-filled afternoon!

The Puppy Halloween Parade demonstrates the delight of community at Park Delta Bay.  Many of the 103 lots at the park provide long-term home bases for families, retirees, and working folks.  Both the Park and the Marina also provide casual parking and berth for vacationers and short-term residents.  Everyone can enjoy the community room, with its pool table, lending library, and comfortable seating; the common areas, including the dog park, tennis courts, and pool (in season); as well as the lovely grounds which the staff take care to maintain.  Members of our community organize periodic potluck suppers; plant, maintain, and harvest a community garden; and host regular movie nights in the meadow.  Staff, management, and residents alike take pride in making Park Delta Bay and the Delta Bay Marina somewhere to call “home”.  Our pets deserve nothing less!
