Our Growing Community

Just a few years ago, Park Delta Bay functioned as a KOA Campground.  One of nearly 500 such vacation spots, the Park offered short-term RV sites, vacation park-model rentals, and tent camping spots.  A central area served those spending their weekends or leisure time at Park Delta Bay.  A laundry facility, arcade, tennis courts, and a swimming pool met the needs of those “on the go”  whether staying for a few days or a couple of weeks.

Since that time, Park Delta Bay has changed ownership and evolved into a community of folks choosing to live nontraditionally.  In trailers, mobile homes, RVs, converted school buses, and tiny houses, the residents of Park Delta Bay stake their claim in one of the lovely rows on either the west or east side of the central corridor.  Some folks come for work, as skilled labor, medical professionals, or any of the other professions needed by business in one of the nearby metropolitan areas.  With the crisis of expensive and scarce residential housing in northern California and throughout the US, mobile living strongly appeals to anyone wanting to have the creature-comforts of a brick-and-mortar house without the burden of a huge mortgage.

But Park living has broader appeal than just somewhere to set-up housekeeping without breaking the bank.  Mobile and modular living has always had its own charm.  Folks who choose this lifestyle can either park and stay, or travel with their house hitched to a truck.  Either way, everyone creates the nest which best suits them.  Surrounded by other long-term parkers with intermittent space for vacationers in season, Park Delta Bay residents enjoy the year-round beauty of the California Delta.

Park Delta Bay has evolved in the last three years to a warm and welcoming destination for members of the tiny house community.  At present, the Park boasts eleven owner-occupied tiny houses which range from the slick modern varieties to cozy home-made wonders.  Additionally, the Park has its own “park models” available for rent, and maintains designated spots for those who vacation RV-style.

Our growing community boasts its own resident Facebook Group, and a newly formed committee will soon be establishing a craft area and lending library in the Clubhouse.  Residents have already launched a game night.  On a recent Saturday, eight residents gathered to play board games and share popcorn.  Over the winter, the Garden group will be refurbishing the irrigation system in the Delta Bay Community Garden and revamping its beds.  All the while, Park Delta Bay maintains its relaxed, warm atmosphere, and the staff works hard to keep the water flowing, the lights twinkling, and the trees trimmed and towering!

Nestled in the heart of the Sacramento-California Delta, on the California Delta Loop, Park Delta Bay offers serenity, comfort, and convenience to long- and short-term residents.  Come see us!
