Celebrating Summer At Park Delta Bay

Let’s Get Sauced! founder Heather Sousa & son

Summer is in full swing at Park Delta Bay with the Sunday Market in our central meadow on 2nd and 4th Sundays through August.  The vendors of the Sunday Market offer a wide variety of wares, from sauces to organic veggies to soap made from local lavender.  The Sunday Market offers live entertainment, a BBQ vendor, and a Kids Korner with activities for your little ones!

The Delta Bay Foundation, a California not-for-profit with 501(c)(3) status, sponsors the Sunday Market.  Our Park offers a venue free-of-charge to support this local organization, the mission of which is to promote the culture, commerce, and conservation of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta in which the Park and the Delta Bay Marina are located.  The Sunday Market consists of a rotating roster of local artists, crafters, photographers, and growers.

One of the long-time vendors, Heather Sousa of “Let’s Get Sauced!”  recently received her Cottage Kitchen certification, allowing her to offer an expanded and certified line of sauces, jellies, hand-pies, and home-made extracts.  Also available at the Sunday Market are the locally raised eggs of Delta Tails, by licensed egg-handler Stacy Williams of Ryer Island; and the organic veggies and herbs grown in Walnut Grove by Alice Dale and her daughter Jennifer of Silo Farm Organics.  Other booths offer such wonderful items as stained glass ornaments, hand-painted stemware, knitted and crocheted items, vintage table-ware and jewelry, soy candles, and table-linens.  The vendors all have their roots in the Delta and surrounding communities.  They design and make their items; or collect and curate in the case of vintage offerings.

Plans are underway to open a local store-front for the Sunday Market vendors with rotating merchandise.  Until then, you can shop, relax, and enjoy the beauty of the Delta in our wide, breezy meadow under the Market tent.  The next date is July 10th, when the entertainment will be singer and songwriter Bryan Keith.  At the July 24th Sunday Market, they’ll be celebrating Christmas in July!  Singer Randy Carey returns to entertain you on July 24th.  Sunday Market hours are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
