Spring at Park Delta Bay

Nothing makes us smile quite like spring in our beautiful park.  The tender green of the new leaves rising above our meadows casts a gentle glow in the morning sunlight.  The newly refurbished off-leash dog park awaits residents who stroll down our roadways with their canine companions.  Park staff can be seen on their tractors and mowers, with hand tools aboard, clearing the winter vegetation to make way for regrowth.

In the community room, management and residents have staged craft supplies, a lounge area, and tables for dining or meeting.  Campers mingle with those who make their home here, sharing stories of travel or life in a small-dwelling community.  Outside its large bright windows, sounds and sights that hint of summer please the occasional glance.  The pool will be cleaned, the tennis courts made orderly, new trash receptacles staged, and the bins of sports equipment freshened in anticipation of warmer days.

Lingering signs of the park’s days as a KOA get their own spring re-do — paint for the wooden picnic tables, a tightening of the washers on the water hook-ups, new gravel laid on the drives.  Folks who live in the park year round come out as the air warms, smiling, waving, remembering the pleasantness that takes hold each April.  Sparrows, finches, and scrub jays send their distinctive calls across the fields.  People pull wagons through the common areas, filled with books for the shared library, laundry, or picnic fixings.  Plans unfold for the May 03rd Spring Market and park-wide yard sale.  Grills get cleaned; new hoses unfurl; the sun-dapples beds of flowers lift their faces to the breeze.

Another year unfolds at Park Delta Bay, with its promise of beautiful days and lovely nights by the fire before the summer heat.  If you are lucky, you can back your RV, your tiny house, or your camper into one of the park’s spacious lots, and stay a while.  We’ll be glad to see you.  We always welcome new neighbors.  Pull up a chair and sit a spell.  We’re in no hurry.  It’s Delta time.
