Life has rolled into summer time here at Park Delta Bay and the Delta Bay Marina. As a two-site, 12-plus acre and water-front community, the Park and the Marina have residents in RVs, boats, trailers, mobile homes, and tiny houses. Neighboring parks and marinas sport similar dwellings, since #deltalife never gets cold and always has a welcoming tree to shade your deck and a cool breeze for sitting outside watching the boats go by.
We find ourselves wondering — how do we keep these places humming? From small engine repair to clean-out, nontraditional dwellings need a different kind of upkeep than a traditional brick-and-mortar house. Whether you live full time in your rig, or come here for weekends and holidays, you’ll need the skills or contacts to get things running or make the changes which provide your personal creature comfort.
On Saturday, June 8, RV, Boat, and Tiny House specialists will set up under our big tent. Stop by to learn how to take care of your home or meet someone who can do it for you. Several shops will be represented, including Park Delta Bay resident and tiny house builder / consultant Derek Campbell, who, with his wife Kelly Pipe Campbell, built his own place after working as a contractor in the state of Washington. Whether you live on land or sea, if your home floats, pulls behind a truck, or has its own motor, you can stop by to get tips on taking care of it.
The event starts at 9:00 a.m. At Noon, we’ll be cooking crawfish, white fish, corn & taters in a good old fashioned Delta boille base. Lunch is on us, so stop by to learn some maintenance or repair, and stay for good eats!
