On December 13th, from noon to 4:00 p.m., Park Delta Bay will be the scene of the Sunday Market’s Holiday Market, a venue for local artisans, crafters, and antique purveyors to sell their wares to holiday gift-givers!

The Sunday Market, hosted at the Park by the Delta Bay Foundation, successfully brought the Farmer’s Market vibe to the Delta Loop in July and August of this past summer.  At a time when many indoor retailers could not open due to the state and local emergency orders, the Sunday Market provided residents and visitors with a place to shop for local organic produce, hand-crafted jewelry, stained glass, baked goods, lavender soaps & home fragrances, and so much more!  In October, the Sunday Market made its fall debut with a Harvest Market, with visitors topping 300, the biggest crowd ever!

The Holiday Market will take place at three convenient and comfortable spots in the central corridor of the park because of the need for physical distancing.  Some vendors will be inside the Park’s clubhouse in the community room.  Others, including Silo Farm Organics with their winter crop, will set up on the covered walk of the clubhouse.  A third group will be creatively staged in a portable outside venue with heating.

Many of the Sunday Market vendors will return for the Holiday Market, including the lovely and talented Robin Pack with her Tiny Bakeshop; the delightful Miss Pattie with a yet-to-be announced grill menu; and many more! Come shop for holiday decor, unique presents for everyone in your family and all your friends!  Enjoy hot chocolate, tasty treats, and a fun time with your neighbors!

In the true holiday spirit, the Holiday Market will also be collecting new, unwrapped cold-weather children’s outer-wear and clothing; toys and other new, unwrapped children’s gifts are also welcome.  These gifts will be donated to Grace is the Key, a local not-for-profit which serves homeless families in the Modesto area.  We have a special place in our hearts for this program, since its founder’s parents live at the Park and are part of the Sunday Market.  Anyone donating a new item for this amazing organization will receive a raffle ticket for a very special raffle held at the Holiday Market.  Follow the Facebook Event for updates on vendors and activities!

The River Delta Fire District will be on hand at the Holiday Market and rumor has it that our wonderful First Responders will bring Santa with them!  Later that week, Santa and the crew will take all the donated gifts from the Holiday Market to the Christmas party hosted by Grace is the Key for the families which it serves.  What better way to celebrate the holidays than giving to others in our surrounding community?

The Delta Bay Foundation sponsors the Sunday Market in all its varieties.  The Foundation is a California NFP with 501(c)(3) status founded and organized to promote and preserve the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.  All persons attending any function does so at his/her own risk and must comply with any state or Sacramento County Covid-19 emergency orders in place at the time of the event, including wearing masks indoors or when unable to physically distance; maintaining six feet of physical distance between non-household members; and staying home if you or someone in your household has or is suspected of having the novel corona virus.
