Sunday Market’s Harvest Market – October 11, 2020 – 11am to 3pm!

Just two weeks until the Sunday Market’s premier “Harvest Market”!  Mark your calendars: Sunday, October 11th, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Park Delta Bay!

Most of the summer’s vendors will be returning.  We also proudly announce three new vendors, Ruth Crisantos, Rachel Warren, and Kristi South!  Each has unique and lovely craft or ceramic ware for holiday gift-giving or home decorating!

Kristi South makes Utah home these days, but has her roots in Stockton.

Intrigued by the Sunday Market, South has scheduled a trip to the area coinciding with our Harvest Market.  She makes “fun and functional” pottery and should make a gleeful addition to market row!  Check her out in Facebook here.  Peruse her studio page here.  South hopes to resettle in the Delta — and from what we have seen, she’ll do well as a creative here!

Rachel Warren makes her second appearance as an artist in a venue sponsored by the Delta Bay Foundation.  She joined a half-dozen other artists in a holiday show last year which only slightly suffered by a Loop-wide power outage!  Her objects d’art focus on Dia de Muertos, the Mexican holiday which honors the dead.  Her glassware, tiles, and other creations capture the essence of the holiday in a unique and lively way.  Check out her work at her website here.  Each piece reflects Warren’s love of glass, painting, and the holiday itself.  Her vibrant personality shines through in everything she creates.

Ruth Crisantos claims first-prize as a true Delta gal.  She hails from Clarksburg and lives in Ryde.

She makes adorable hand-made trinkets in holiday themes and a variety of styles.  This will be Crisantos’ first appearance at the Sunday Market, and we hope she’ll return at future special events and — dare we hope! — next summer’s regular Sunday Market (which we plan for each Sunday in June, July, and August!).  One of Crisantos’ ornaments will look lovely on your fall wreath or holiday tree!  Buy several to share or decorate every room in your house with a charming original!

The Grill Station

Of course, no Sunday Market would be compete without a stop at Pattie Whitaker’s Grill Station!  Ms. Pattie will be offering seasonal fare:  Along with her Delta-famous burgers and hot dogs, she’ll have savory chili to enjoy with cornbread or over your sandwich!  You do not want to miss this bounty!  Stop next at this summer’s “ice cream ladies” table, where fall makes its mark with corn-on-the-cob, churros, and cold drinks!  Enjoy your meal under the Pop-Up Rest-Stop!

The Ice Cream Ladies plus one will morph into the “corn and churros” stand for the Harvest Market!

The Pop-Up Rest-Stop provides a cozy place to enjoy your lunch!

Food booths at the Sunday Market are “contribution only”!  Give what you think the food & service warrants!  The food vendors are park residents who join with the Delta Bay Foundation in welcoming you to our happy home on the Loop!

On Market Row, returning vendors offer stained glass, hand-made jewelry, fabric art, knit and crochet work, and “antiques and old stuff”.  One of our most popular tables is that of Robin Pack, a home-baker selling her wares as the Tiny Bakeshop.  Focusing on locally sourced fruits and spices, Pack offers fruit pies, brownies, cakes, and rolls.  No one regrets the deliciousness of a Tiny Bakeshop treat!

Silo Farm Organics returns to the Market with its heirloom tomatoes and seasonal veggie.  They also bring pumpkins, which we’re excited to announce will be available both for purchase and painting!  In the children’s area, games and activities will keep the under-12 crew occupied, led by Ms. Tammy, a local area para-professional educator.  We even plan a “cupcake walk”, where the kids can pay a small fee to walk the circle and try for a chance to win a treat from the Tiny Bakeshop!  We’ll also be featuring new raffles, with prizes donated by some of the vendors on Market Row!  Must be present to win!  One raffle ticket per purchase at the Market.

Come on out to the Sunday Market’s Harvest Market, and celebrate autumn Delta Style!  We hope to see you there!

A few glimpses of the fun this summer at the Sunday Market.  Enjoy!
