Our second Sunday Market

The summer days grow warm, with the soft Delta winds providing welcome relief as we stroll through the park.  The tall old trees provide perfect shelter and shade.  Under a row of those trees, each Sunday through August, you can find tables filled with baubles, baked goods, and bounty.

On July 12th, visitors enjoyed the second Sunday Market at Park Delta Bay.  With new and returning vendors offering lovely and delectable wares, the Market has proven a popular spot for local residents and vacationers alike.

Members of the community at Park Delta Bay organized a grill station where burgers, hot dogs, chips and bottled water could be had for a donation at your chosen level.  Nearby, three ladies who live long-term in RVs at the Park set up an ice cream stand, a welcome treat on a hot summer day.  Adjacent to the food at the edge of the meadow, weary shoppers could relax in the Rest Stop, under the shade of a pop-up canopy.

Silo Farm Organics made their debut at the Sunday Market, bringing their gorgeous heirloom tomatoes, veggies, and basil fresh-picked at the crack of dawn.  They plan to return each week as long as the Market runs.  Robin Pack brought her #TinyBakeshop goods again, attractively presented and luscious.  Come early next week — the crisps go fast!  Connie GreenWoven showed her jewelry for the first time and enjoyed herself so much she plans to become a regular vendor.  Also selling for the second weekend, Tracy Holcombe displayed delicate stained glass pieces which twirled and sparkled in the sunshine.  Tracy lives next door and will continue to anchor Market Row with her beautiful display.

We had a guest appearance from the lively Miss Maggie and her gentle sister Mary, featuring hand-knit wash clothes and kitchen towels.  They travel during the summer and were Yosemite bound, but we hope to see them back before too long.  Melissa Fink again brought  her hand-fashioned bracelets and necklaces, painted rocks, and driftwood signs.  Her clever designs found favor, especially with a certain little boy who came with Nana Robin and Poppa Don.

Everyone enjoyed live entertainment from the incomparable Josh Jakubowski, who will be serenading us each week at the Market.  We certainly hope to hear more from him — a new record, perhaps?

The Sunday Market at Park Delta Bay continues each week through August.  All the vendors who attended for the second week will return on the 19th of July, and Melanie Lewis makes the journey from Manteca again with her hand-fabricated baby blankets, shawls, and receiving blankets.

Come on out, Noon to 4:00 p.m.!  See you next week, at the Sunday Market!

Please note:  The Sunday Market is set up for social distancing.  Visitors are asked to bring face coverings and wear them when interacting with persons not of your household if you cannot maintain a 6-foot physical distance.  Vendors disinfect their stations and have masks to wear when conducting transactions.  The volunteer grill station and ice cream booth attendees clean before and after customers and use face coverings during sales.   Even though the Sunday Market is outdoors, we follow and honor the state and local guidelines or mandates to the extent that they apply to outdoor markets; and ask that our visitors refrain from attending if they or someone in their circle have tested positive for or have symptoms of the novel corona virus or CoVID-19.  Thank you!
