How To Find Long Term RV Parks

How do you find a RV park which offers parking either monthly or annual? In California, many RV parks offer only short term (under 30 days) since management prefers seasonal customers or does not want to deal with long term tenants. If you have a good relationship with the management, they may allow you to stay longer beyond 30 days. There is no state law on long term stays in RV Parks, but some local jurisdictions may limit RV stays.

Use the internet search engines using terms such as “long RV park” or “permanent RV park”. Many parks may not have an online presence and the search results varies depending on the area.

Search on craigslist under Housing will provide you with additional options. You can also considered putting a post on craigslist to find someone who would let you park in their backyard.

You can search for mobile home parks. Those mobile home parks, where people supply their own trailers, often have a section for RV full timers in most cases. The full timers are typically contractors that move somewhere and live there for several months while finishing a job. The process was similar to renting a house or an apartment, credit check, references, deposit.

Many parks have maximum stays of two weeks and moving every other week may become very tedious.

Campgrounds that allow you to stay 180 days or more:

  1. Snug Harbor RV Park 3356 Snug Harbor Dr, Walnut Grove
  2. Flag City RV Resort 6120 W Banner St Rd, Lodi
  3. Sacramento Shade RV Park, Sacramento
  4. Stillman Mobile Home & RV Park, Sacramento

The California Delta offers many options for long term RV parks with great fishing but with a commute if you are going to San Francisco Bay Area or Sacramento. Long term RV parks like Park Delta Bay will allow you to lease long term as well, allows for a substantial savings over the daily rate.

Make sure your park is safe! Park Delta Bay requires a credit and background check on prospective long term residents for community safety.

I could not have said it better, this is where I am at! I want to buy an airstream and pay it off before I retire so I know I will have a home. But working I need to be sort of close to my job in Solano Co. Luckily I go to the office once a week. But I also don’t want to be isolated socially. But RV parks are almost non-existent in NorCal. Marin park for a gravel space is $1800. Yikes. This place surreal. I live in SoCal and it is renter and pet friendly.

Checking to see you have a spot or waiting list for long term parking a 20 foot pull trailer? Also, what would the cost be monthly. Thank you
